Spring 15: Bohemian Plaits

On the heels of #NYFW, and the cusp of spring, the streets and web are buzzing with hair and fashion trends for next season. One of our favorite looks for spring 2015 is the revamped undone braid, a la Mara Hoffman, Michael Kors, and Vera Wang. From waterfalls, to deconstructed fishtails, to chain-inspired braids, here are some gorgeous bohemian plaits for spring! Bonus: these braided styles are perfect to transition from winter because they won’t get ruined under your hat!

2. Bohemian Braid

style.com reports: “This morning at Michael Kors, Orlando Pita complemented the feminine, floral patterns and classic A-line silhouettes with an “earthy, messy” texture he initially unveiled two seasons ago. Before pulling strands into a low plait at the shoulders, he added extensions to models without length or piece-y layers, then misted all over with dry shampoo from his eponymous line. For additional grip and body, he shook Schwarzkopf Osis Dust It powder onto strands and added a bit of bend with a curling iron where needed before braiding and securing with clear elastic. To lend the look a windblown effect, he pulled a few strands out in front.”

3. Chain Braid

Not as hard as it looks! Bonus: works better on dirty hair. Get the tutorial here!

4. Accent Viking Braid

This one’s easy! Tie off a few small braids at different layers. Rough up the braids a bit with your fingers for a more rock and roll vibe!
